Ekerövägen

Just outside the city of Stockholm lies the home of the Swedish Royal Family, the Drottningholm castle, right in the center of a world heritage. Through it runs a road which connects the residents of the Ekerö Island with Stockholm, a road which for many years has been undersized. By broadening the road and reserving two lanes for public transport during rush hours, traffic jams will decrease and more effective public transport will be achieved.

Our part

WSP Visual got involved right from the very start. By continuously working with model and data coordination a 3D-model was always kept up to date with the latest project material.

The result

With the help of the 3D-model, all people involved got a clear understanding of how the broadened road would improve the traffic situation. But more importantly, how it would impact the landscape in the world heritage.
